The Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery merger will trade under the name Skydance, combining HBO, CBS, CNN, Paramount+ and more into one giant entertainment company.
The soon-to-merge Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery officially has a name: It's simply going to be "Skydance," according to chairman and CEO David Ellison.
The merged Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery company will be called Skydance, named after CEO David Ellison's original film production company.
The deal closes on October 6, combining HBO Max, Paramount+, CBS, CNN, MTV, Comedy Central, Food Network and franchises including Harry Potter and the DC Universe.
Skydance will be one of the biggest entertainment companies in the world, with its stock moving to the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SKYD.
The new Skydance will own Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, DC, Yellowstone, Mission Impossible and Nickelodeon, so expect big changes to streaming libraries on HBO Max and Paramount+.
