About Squared Away

Squared Away is a block puzzle on an 8x8 grid. Pieces of different shapes arrive three at a time. Drag them onto the board anywhere they fit. Fill a complete row or column and it clears, freeing space. The game ends when none of the waiting pieces can be placed.

There is no time limit, so it is a thinking game rather than a reflex one: keep the board open, plan for the awkward pieces and chase combos. Free in your browser.

How to play Squared Away

  1. Drag a piece from the tray onto the grid.
  2. Pieces cannot rotate, so place them where they fit as shown.
  3. Complete a full row or column to clear it and score.
  4. Keep going as long as a piece can still be placed.

A new puzzle is published every morning, Sydney time, and signed-in members keep their streaks and scores across devices.

Questions about Squared Away

Is Squared Away like Tetris?
It shares the block shapes and line clears, but nothing falls and there is no clock.
Can I rotate pieces?
No. Part of the puzzle is finding room for each piece as it comes.
How do I score more?
Clear lines on consecutive turns. Chaining clears builds a streak that multiplies your points, up to eight times.
