About Match Ten

Match Ten is a number-clearing puzzle. The board is filled with digits from 1 to 9. Pair two equal numbers, or two numbers that add to ten, to remove them, as long as they are next to each other in a row or column or separated only by empty space. Clear the board completely to finish.

It looks simple and becomes genuinely tactical once the board opens up and long-distance pairs come into play. A new daily board every morning, free in your browser.

How to play Match Ten

  1. Tap two numbers that are equal, or that add up to ten.
  2. They must be adjacent, or in the same line with only cleared cells between them.
  3. Removed cells open up new lines of sight for further pairs.
  4. Clear every number to win. Use the add-rows button if you run out of moves.

A new puzzle is published every morning, Sydney time, and signed-in members keep their streaks and scores across devices.

Questions about Match Ten

Which pairs count?
Two identical digits, or any two that sum to ten: 1 and 9, 2 and 8, 3 and 7, 4 and 6, 5 and 5.
Can I pair diagonally?
Yes, along a clear diagonal, as well as across and down.
What if I am stuck?
Add a new row of numbers to create fresh pairs. Fewer additions score better.
