About Minesweeper
Minesweeper is the classic logic game that shipped with every Windows PC. Uncover squares on the grid without setting off a mine. Each revealed number tells you how many mines touch that square, and from those numbers you deduce where the mines must be. Flag them, clear the rest, and beat the clock.
Cuppa offers beginner, intermediate and expert boards, playable in the browser with tap or right-click flagging. Free, no download.
How to play Minesweeper
- Tap a square to reveal it. A number shows how many of the eight neighbouring squares hold mines.
- Long-press or right-click to plant a flag where you are sure a mine sits.
- Use the numbers together: a 1 with only one hidden neighbour has found its mine.
- Reveal every safe square to win. Hit a mine and the round ends.
A new puzzle is published every morning, Sydney time, and signed-in members keep their streaks and scores across devices.
Questions about Minesweeper
- Can the first click hit a mine?
- No. The first square you open is always safe.
- Do I have to guess?
- Occasionally an expert board leaves a 50/50 at the end. Most boards can be solved by logic alone.
- What is MugSweeper?
- MugSweeper is Cuppa's reverse version: the numbers help you find hidden coffee cups instead of avoiding mines.
